Dr. Mattie Cheek, Director of the PATH program at SAMHSA, welcomes PATH grantees and PATH providers to the 2010 PATH Grantee Meeting. Dr. Gretchen Stiers, Acting Branch Chief, Division of Policy Innovation at SAMHSA, leads the audience through the progression of the opening plenary session.

The keynote address for the opening session of the 2010 PATH Grantee Meeting was delivered by John O'Brien who serves as the Senior Advisor to the SAMHSA Administrator on health care reform and lead's SAMHSA's strategic initiatives involving health care reform.
Mr. O'Brien has a long and distinguished career that has focused on designing evidence based practices, systems of care for individuals, and addressing behavioral health needs for individuals and their families. At SAMHSA, Mr. O'Brien is helping agencies and states, community providers, consumers and family members create a good and modern behavioral health system that integrates seamlessly with the visions of the Affordable Care Act.
