2010 PATH Grantee Meeting
This topic page contains resources from the 2010 PATH Grantee Meeting, held on December 8 - 10, 2010 in Washington D.C.
The theme of the 2010 grantee meeting was Creating Effective PATH Programs in the Era of Health Care Reform. The theme represents SAMHSA’s focus on how health care reform will shape the future of behavioral health care. The 2010 meeting also highlights SAMHSA's efforts to continue to move closer toward collecting and reporting PATH data into local Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS). HMIS will be an important tool by which we tell the PATH story of progress and program effectiveness in a consistent and unified way. Finally, the theme captures SAMHSA’s mission to reduce the impact of substance use and mental illness on America’s communities, and it focuses our attention on meeting the Nation’s challenge to prevent and end chronic homelessness in 5 years.
During this meeting, participants learned about SAMHSA’s eight new ...
Strategic Initiatives and a variety of approaches designed to help grantees foster effective PATH programs, improve services, and enhance the quality of lives for the people we serve. Participants also had opportunities to interact with the many people who make up the PATH community, including State PATH Contacts, providers, SAMHSA staff, and other Federal partners. In addition, the entire PATH community of nearly 600 PATH provider organizations and sub-grantees from around the country were invited to watch keynote speakers and special sessions using live video web streaming capabilities. This medium provided an opportunity for PATH to expand its reach and create broader learning communities to address the needs of individuals enrolled in PATH.
