CHAB: Underserved Populations
People who are homeless in America are old and young, male and female, single and with families. They live in big cities or in rural areas. Some have health problems and/or mental health issues whereas others don’t. They come from all ethnic groups and possess varying sexual preferences. Veterans, former criminal offenders, and illegal immigrants appear in substantial numbers among the homeless. Although members of these groups may be different, they suffer similarly from poverty, lack of housing, and a multitude of other challenges facing people who are homeless.
