Description:
On September 27, 2010, SMAHSA hosted the webinar “A Working Life through Treatment, Housing, and a Job.” Speakers included John Rio, MA, CRC from Advocates for Human Potential, Amelia Roberts-Lewis, PhD, LCSW, from University of North Carolina, and Karen Kelly and two consumers from Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abuse (TROSA).
This exciting Webinar showcased TROSA’s “three-legged stool approach” that combines evidence-based cognitive behavioral treatment for people with co-occurring disorders in a therapeutic community with an affordable residence and work-ordered day, TROSA is a residential treatment and social entrepreneur business venture. One of the highlights of this Webinar was the candid stories shared by the two consumers, Susan and Bobby, who have experienced drug abuse, incarceration and homelessness.
